Yamaha loaned us one of a handful of 2004 FJR1300s now here in the United States (indeed, all of the bikes here are pre-production units, with production units to follow) for a very brief, one-day ride. Since we have already tested the 2003 FJR1300 extensively (see our report here), we focused our attention on the changes to the 2004 model. Those changes were summarized in our article dated February 5, 2003.
Okay, so this bike is still a rocket with saddlebags. That much hasn't changed. What has changed are a number of significant components that add up to a much improved machine, overall.
